The 19th edition of the Iran Cinema Celebration has announced the award winners.
The Iran Cinema Celebration held a ceremony on September 12, 2017, to praise the best productions of the year.
Asghar Farhadi’s award-winning ‘The Salesman’ grabbed most of the awards, including award for the best feature film.
‘The Servant’ by Farnoush Abedi received the award for the best animation.
‘Animal’ made by Bahman and Bahram Ark won the award for the best short film.
The award for the best documentary went to Mohsen Ostad-Ali for ‘The Womanhood’.
The awards for the best actor and actress in a supporting role were respectively presented to Farid Sajjad-Hosseini for ‘The Salesman’ and Pantea Panahiha for ‘Red Polish’.
The awards for the best actor and actress in a leading role respectively went to Shahab Hosseini for ‘The Salesman’ and Leila Hatami for ‘Subdued’.
Finally, the best director award and the best script award were presented to Farhadi for directing and writing the script for the Oscar-winning ‘The Salesman’.
The Iranian House of Cinema organizes the celebration annually to observe Iran’s National Day of Cinema on September 12.
